DUP Jim Wells hospitalised over elections poster fall

Former Northern Ireland Assembly Health Committee chairman Jim Wells has been taken to hospital after he fell on election night.

It is believed the DUP politician fell whilst taking down an election poster from a poll in his South Down constituency on Thursday evening.

He was taken to Lagan Valley hospital with a suspected broken collar bone.

Mr Wells said he was "lucky there were no cars in the road at the time".
