Security alert in west Belfast declared 'a hoax'

A security alert in west Belfast which resulted in people being moved from their homes has been declared a hoax.

The Falls Road was closed in both directions between Conway Street and Springfield Road. Sevastopol Street was also closed to the public.

A number of people were moved from their homes.

Sinn Fein assembly member Fra McCann said "massive disruption" had been caused by the alert.
