Speranza restaurant fined for selling cheap vodka

Vodka

A Belfast restaurant has been fined £500 for selling sub-standard alcohol.

Italian restaurant Speranza, in Shaftesbury Square, committed the offence between 12 February and 21 April 2010.

At Belfast Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, the restaurant admitted that they had substituted a lesser quality brand of vodka for the premium one advertised on their menu.

The business was also ordered to pay £69 in costs.
