Man found not guilty of raping woman in Londonderry

A 35-year old man has been found not guilty of raping a woman at his home in Londonderry.

Patrick McNamara, who is originally from Ennis in County Clare, denied seven charges including three of rape, one of attempted rape and one of false imprisonment.

The judge directed the jury to acquit the defendant of all charges after the prosecution said it was offering no further evidence.

Mr McNamara was released from custody.
