The DUP and Sinn Fein are facing renewed claims they engaged in substantive direct contact well before their first official meeting in 2007.

The claims come in Tuesday's Belfast Telegraph which reports it has obtained leaked US cables from the whistle-blowing website, WikiLeaks.

The DUP has denied being involved in any contact with Sinn Fein ahead of March the 24th in 2007.

The party said no contact had been sanctioned.
