Customs trailer hijacked and set alight in Crossmaglen

A trailer belonging to the Irish Customs service has been hijacked and set on fire in South Armagh.

It is understood the vehicle was being transported after an operation in Monaghan investigating fuel laundering.

It was stolen and set alight on the Blaney Road in Crossmaglen at about 1900 BST on Thursday night.

The customs officer driving the vehicle was shocked but otherwise unhurt following the incident.
