Ballymena paint bomb attack 'was hate crime'

Police tape

A paint bomb attack on a house in Ballymena is being treated by police as a hate crime.

Slogans were also painted on the property in the town's Millfield area shortly before 0700 BST on Friday.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious overnight activity in the area between Thursday and Friday.

A spokesman said: "Graffiti may appear to be a victimless crime but in reality it can be intimidating for residents and minority ethnic groups."

He added: "Hate crime is wrong and police would appeal to all members of the public to report all incidents."
