Derry Victoria Road fire started 'deliberately'

The Fire Service said a blaze at a derelict building on Victoria Road in Londonderry on Friday evening was started deliberately.

Fifty tyres inside the building caught fire at about 2200 BST sending black smoke billowing across the River Foyle.

The stone building was undamaged, and nobody was injured.

The incident has been referred to the Environmental Health Agency so that the owner of the tyres can be identified.
