NI men arrested in Garda dissident republican probe

Three men from NI have been arrested near Drogheda, County Louth, as part of an investigation by Irish police into dissident republican activity.

They were detained after a stolen lorry containing alcohol was stopped on the M1 Belfast to Dublin road at 2300 BST on Sunday.

A second trailer containing alcohol was also seized.

Three other men were arrested in a follow-up operation in Delvin, County Westmeath.

The men from Northern Ireland, who are in their 30s, are being held at Balbriggan and Drogheda Garda stations.
