Man held over East Belfast police murder bid

A man is being questioned by police investigating the attempted murder of police officers in east Belfast during recent disorder.

The 28-year-old from west Belfast has been under arrested under the Terrorism Act.

A police spokesperson said he is also being questioned about suspected dissident republican activity.

The rioting in the east of the city has been described as the worst in the area in the last ten years.
