Man arrested over Poleglass shooting is released

A 56-year-old man arrested in connection with the shooting of a man in west Belfast has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Shots were fired at the front door of a house at Glenbawn Link, Poleglass, on Monday night.

James Bingham, who is 36, is being treated in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

His father George said his son needed surgery to remove pellets from his neck.

Earlier this week, Sinn Fein councillor Stephen Magennis said residents told him that when the gunmen could not gain access to the house, they fired shots through the door at the victim.

He said children were playing in and around the area at the time of the shooting.
