Children are rescued by lifeboat at Groomsport

Two children have been rescued by a lifeboat after they became stranded on the rocks at Groomsport, County Down.

The girls, believed to be under the age of 10, were playing on the seafront at about 2200 BST on Friday when they got into difficulties.

A passer-by raised the alarm.

One of the girls was pulled from the water.

Both girls were said to be shaken but unharmed.
