Arrest extension granted over Declan Quinn murder

Police investigating the death of Declan Quinn, who died in a hit-and-run in Coalisland, County Tyrone, have been granted another 36 hours to question a man.

The 37-year-old, who was from the town, was knocked down on the Gortgonis Road at about 1030 BST on Saturday.

Police launched a murder inquiry after Mr Quinn died in hospital on Monday.

The 21-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday.

A 20-year-old arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and withholding information has been released on bail.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa, believed to be involved in the collision, was later found in the Drumcairne Forest on the Ballygittle Road, Stewartstown.
