Donegal man jailed for police officer manslaughter
A man has been found guilty of the manslaughter of an Irish police officer in County Donegal two years ago.
Gary McLoughlin died after his patrol car was hit by a car driven by Martin McDermot from Raphoe in December 2009.
The 25-year-old was also found guilty of recklessly endangering the life of another Garda officer in the crash.
McDermot was sentenced to eight years in prison with the last year suspended. He was also disqualified from driving for 20 years.
