Man, 42, injured in Belfast's university area

Police have said they are no longer treating an incident in Belfast's Holylands area, which resulted in a man being taken to hospital, as a shooting.

The 42-year-old man said he was going through the area at about 2100 BST on Sunday evening when he felt a pain in his left leg.

He collapsed and was taken to hospital.

A further medical examination has revealed the man was not shot. Police said they were trying to establish the circumstances of the incident.
