Pipe bomb is made safe by Army outside Ballymena

A pipe bomb has been dismantled by Army experts on the outskirts of Ballymena.

The device was discovered in the Moorfields Road area and made safe on Thursday afternoon.

Roads around the scene which were closed during the alert have now reopened.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between 22:00 BST on Wednesday and 09:30 BST on Friday to contact them.
