NI businesses in fraudulent cheque warning
The PSNI have urged businesses to be vigilant following several reports of fraudulent cheques being used to pay for goods.
Police said cheques totalling more than £16,000 have been used at golf clubs, electrical stores and restaurants throughout Northern Ireland.
The most recent incident happened in Lisnaskea on 22 July.
A man purchased a £600 TV with a cheque, which later turned out to be from a closed account.
There were further incidents in Belfast, Antrim, Lisburn, Larne, Lurgan and Portadown.
Business owners have been encouraged to make all staff aware of customers using cheques to buy large quantities of equipment and to contact police if there are any concerns.
