A Lithuanian man awaiting extradition over allegations of ATM fraud has been reprieved after the warrant was withdrawn.

Earlier this week, a judge in Belfast ordered Modestas Mockevicius to be returned to Lithuania within 10 days.

The 30-year-old was being sought in connection with 44 suspected offences.

He had been living in Northern Ireland for the last three years with an address in the Newry area.

A European Arrest Warrant was served on him after he was taken into custody in connection with separate issues.

With the extradition request no longer in place, he is expected to be released from custody.
