Three charged in Belfast human trafficking probe

Two men and a woman are due in court on Friday in connection with a police investigation into human trafficking and a vice ring.

On Wednesday, police said six suspected trafficking victims from Eastern Europe had been rescued in recent weeks due to their enquiries.

The investigation had been running for three months.

While it centred in Belfast police said it stretched across Europe.

A 29-year-old man has been charged with trafficking into the UK, trafficking within the UK, controlling prostitution, brothel keeping and concealing criminal property.

A 22-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been charged with brothel keeping and controlling prostitution.

A 24-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
