Polish man extradited to NI over fatal road accident

A 57-year-old Polish man has been returned to Northern Ireland to face charges connected to a road accident that killed a 62-year-old Tyrone man.

The man has been extradited on a European Arrest Warrant to be charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Michael James Tierney, from Sixmilecross, was killed in the accident on 4 February 2008.

His car was in a collision with a lorry on the A4 Dungannon to Ballygawley Road.

Mr Tierney died in Craigavon Area Hospital.
