Two men arrested after an armed robbery in Hilltown

Police have arrested two men after an armed robbery in Hilltown, County Down.

At about 1610 BST on Sunday, two men entered a garage on Main Street. They threatened a member of staff with a bottle and made off in a white Toyota Yaris car with a sum of cash.

The car was later found to have been stolen during a burglary in Stewartstown Mews in west Belfast overnight between Saturday and Sunday.

The car was abandoned a short time after the incident in Warrenpoint.

Police officers and dog handlers searched the area and two men were arrested close to the scene.

Two 21-year-old men continue to assist police with their enquiries.
