The search for a missing American tourist in County Donegal has shifted focus to the deserted fishing village of Port.

Kelly Jones, 41, has not been seen since Saturday. She had been holidaying in Glencolmcille.

Earlier, Donegal mountain rescuers said they were still hopeful of finding her.

Ms Jones is said to be an experienced walker but has not been seen since she left her hostel in the south-west of the county.

Brian Murray from the mountain rescue team said she may have succumbed to hypothermia and he was working on the basis she was still in the area.

He added it was also possible that she may have gone elsewhere.
