The combined Garda Siochana and PSNI rugby team is to be rebranded with a new emblem.

The badge worn by 'Ireland Police Rugby' will be made up of a combination of the Garda and PSNI crests.

The two forces have been playing together since 2003 but have now decided to put their relationship on a new footing.

The rebranded team will have their first fixture against a British police selection in November.

They will then play a French police selection in the new year.
