Polish angler dies after Bundoran sea incident

A Polish man who lived in Northern Ireland has died after being swept out to sea at Bundoran in County Donegal.

The man was fishing off rocks near the seaside town on Saturday evening when he slipped and hit his head. He lost consciousness and was swept out to sea.

He was rescued by the Bundoran Lifeboat crew but died later at Sligo General Hospital.

He is believed to have been in his 40s and living in the Enniskillen area.
