Environmental Marketing Solutions lands £7.5m Kurdistan contract

A Tyrone company has secured a £7.5m contract during a Northern Ireland trade mission to Kurdistan.

Environmental Marketing Solutions (EMS) Ltd, based in Killyman, signed the contract for four recycling systems.

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster, who led the Invest NI trade mission, said it showed the importance of firms seizing opportunities in new markets.

"I want to congratulate EMS Ltd on their success in winning this major contract," she said.

EMS Ltd was one of 20 companies from Northern Ireland which attended the International Trade Fair in Erbil, as part of the Invest NI trade mission.

Sean McBride, business development manager with EMS Ltd, said: "This is a significant contract for our company. It is clear evidence of the opportunities which exist for local firms in Kurdistan.

"We are looking forward to bringing our high quality recycling products to the region and are hopeful that we will be able to secure further business there in the future."
