Sinn Fein councillor Colin Kelly resumes council duties
A Londonderry Sinn Fein councillor who was suspended after an allegation of assault was made against him is to resume his council duties.
Colin Kelly, who is in his 20s and represents the cityside ward, was suspended without prejudice in August.
It followed an accusation against him by a member of the public.
The party said the case had been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter.
"In the absence of any police investigation the party has dealt with the complaint as an internal party disciplinary matter and that process has now concluded," a party spokesperson said.
Mr Kelly is one of the youngest Sinn Fein public representatives in Northern Ireland.
