Ballygowan dog stabbed to death

A dog has been stabbed to death and another has been wounded in an attack in Ballygowan.

The two animals were found in a yard in the Brae area of the village.

The attack happened sometime between 1700 GMT on Sunday 6 November and 0930 GMT on Monday 7 November.

Police said they believe one dog was stabbed and later died of his injuries. The second had a wound to its face but this is not believed to be life threatening.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
