Tyres on 16 cars in Portadown slashed by vandals

The tyres on 16 cars have been slashed by vandals in Portadown.

It happened between 03:00 and 07:00 GMT on Wednesday.

Ten cars were targeted in Alexandra Gardens, two in Jervis Street and two in Atkinson Avenue.

Police believe the tyres on two other cars in Atkinson Avenue were damaged between Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Neighbourhood inspector Phil Shepherd said: "These attacks took place in quite a small area and we believe that someone in the community will have information that will assist our investigation.

"These are attacks on members of the local community and we would ask anyone who noticed anything untoward in the area last night or on Friday night to contact us so that we can find those responsible."

Police are asking anyone who thinks their car may be one of the vehicles involved to get in touch with them at Portadown police station on 0845 600 8000.
