A woman in her 40s has been raped in west Belfast.

The attack by two men happened in the Whiterock Road area at about 01:00 GMT on Sunday.

Both men are described as being in their 30s of heavy build and wearing jeans.

The PSNI have asked anyone with information about the attack to contact detectives at its rape crime unit at Ladas Drive in Belfast.

The SDLP councillor for the area Tim Attwood said local people were very concerned by the attack.
