Masked men carry out robberies in Fermanagh and Armagh

Police believe a series of robberies in the Fermanagh and Armagh areas are linked.

Masked men robbed shops in Roslea, Augher, Middletown and Keady.

On Saturday, two masked men, one with a machete, carried out a robbery at Dernawilt Road, Roslea, at 18:05 GMT.

They stole cigarettes and money. Half an hour later, two masked men, one with a hockey stick carried out a robbery in Augher. They stole cigarettes. No-one was injured in either robbery.

On the same evening, two men, one with a machete carried out a robbery in Middletown.

They made off with money from the tills at a shop in Main Street.

At 19:45 GMT, one masked man went into a shop in Keady and stole a sum of money.

Police said there was a strong possibility that all of the robberies were linked.

They are also connecting them with two attempted armed robberies in Aughnacloy and Bellanaleck.
