Petrol bomb thrown at rear of house in Carrickfergus

Police are investigating a petrol bomb attack at a house in Carrickfergus, County Antrim.

The device was thrown at the rear of a house in Hawthorn Avenue around 23:00 GMT on Sunday.

It caused damage to the roof of a shed. The occupant was able to put the fire out before it spread.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
