Funeral of murdered GAA star James Hughes to take place

The funeral is due to take place later of the Crossmaglen Rangers gaelic footballer, James Hughes, who was murdered in County Louth at the weekend.

Mr Hughes, 35, was shot dead in Dundalk in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Shane Rogers, 32, with an address at Deery Terrace, Inniskeen, County Monaghan, has been charged with his murder.

Mr Hughes' funeral Mass will take place at St Patrick's Church, Crossmaglen.

He was in a taxi when he was shot dead outside a house at Cluain Ard in the Lis Na Dara estate shortly after 04:00 GMT on Sunday.
