Roads reopened after ice closure

The A4 dual carriageway in County Tyrone has been reopened after it was closed due to icy road conditions.

The M1 had also been closed westbound at junction 15, the Dungannon exit, to prevent cars from going onto the A4. It has also reopened.

Police said a number of accidents had been reported on the A4, but none of them were serious.

Roads Service has advised motorists on the M1 and M2 to exercise caution due to the icy conditions.

They said showers overnight had washed grit from roads which had been treated and sub-zero temperatures led to ice forming.

Dangerous conditions due to black ice have also been reported in the Omagh area.
