A man has undegone surgery after being shot in Belfast

A man has undergone surgery after being injured in a shooting in west Belfast.

Two masked men went into a house in Aspen Walk in the Twinbrook area of the city shortly after 1900 GMT on Wednesday.

A 28-year-old man, who was in the property at the time, was shot in the leg.

He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable. The police have appealed for information.
