Shots have been fired at a house in the Sydenham area of east Belfast.

Police received reports of the attack in Invernook Drive at about 23:00 GMT on Saturday.

Damage was caused to a window of the house and the windscreen of a car as a result. No-one was injured during the incident.

A red Hyundai car was later discovered burnt out in Larkfield Manor. It is believed this car may have been linked to the incident.

East Belfast assembly member Judith Cochrane said she was "shocked and outraged" at the incident.

"The people responsible are obviously very dangerous individuals," she said.

"They are offering nothing to our society."
