Hillwalkers discover human remains in shallow grave

Irish scientists are preparing to examine human remains found in a shallow grave in the Dublin mountains.

The skeletal remains were found at midday on Sunday by two hill walkers.

They were beside an uprooted tree near the Military Road, outside Tallaght. No clothes or recognisable items were found at the scene.

However, further searches are being carried out. The state pathologist is expected to begin an examination of the remains later.
