A 44-year old Comber man has been charged in connection with the murder of Philip Strickland last week.

North Lucas, of Ballycreely Road, appeared at Ards Magistrates' Court on Monday accused of assisting offenders.

He was released on bail of £750.

The accused was instructed by District Judge Mark Hamill to surrender his passport and to stay away from any witnesses or co-accused in the case.

Mr Strickland was shot dead outside Comber on the night of 11 January.

Five other people - four men and a woman - have been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of the 36-year-old.
