Charges after cannabis plants and dogs seized in Rostrevor

A man and a woman have been charged with a range of offences after cannabis plants and dogs were seized at a house in Rostrevor, County Down.

Police found 70 cannabis plants, 35kgs of cannabis resin and dogs believed to have been used for badger baiting.

They were found during a search of a house in the Pinewood area on Monday.

A 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have been charged with offences including possessing class B drugs with intent to supply and animal cruelty.

They are both also charged with allowing damage to an electricity meter; cultivating cannabis and dishonestly using electricity.

They are to appear at Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
