A man is to stand trial for the attempted murder of a woman in the Grove Wellbeing Centre in north Belfast last year.

Darren Todd, 23, from Pound Street in Newtownards, is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to a man in the same incident.

Mary McReynolds was stabbed more than 20 times during the attack.

She suffered wounds to her arms, shoulder and back in the stabbing.

During preliminary enquiry proceedings at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Tuesday it was contended that a prima facie case exists against him.

Mr Todd was remanded in custody until the trial gets under way.
