Man charged over south Belfast carjacking

A 28-year-old man has been charged over a carjacking when a woman was threatened with a knife.

Police said a man forced her to get out of her car at Windsor Road, south Belfast, at 23:18 GMT on Thursday.

He drove off in her car but was chased by police and stopped just 12 minutes later at Earlscourt Street in west Belfast.

The stolen car was in collision with a police vehicle and three officers were hurt.

Police said the woman was not injured but suffered from shock after her ordeal.
