Motorcycle hijack attempt in Belfast

A woman on a motorcycle was punched in the shoulder and told to get off her bike while she sat in rush-hour traffic in Belfast city centre.

The motorcyclist managed to drive away following the incident which happened on Great Victoria Street.

It happened at 17:20 GMT on Thursday, but details have just emerged.

Police say the attacker is believed to be a man in his late teens who had his face covered with a scarf.
