Police suspect drugs feud link to bodies in car

Irish police suspect a drugs feud is behind the murders of two men whose bodies were found in a burnt-out car.

The discovery was made in a forest at Ravensdale between Dundalk and the border with Northern Ireland on Wednesday evening at about 23:15 GMT.

After they were killed, the car was set alight in an effort to destroy the evidence. Gardai believe the two men were minor criminals living in Dublin.

The car involved had been stolen in Sandymount, Dublin, a week ago.

DNA tests and dental records checks will be used to help establish the victim's identities.

One line of inquiry is that the men were in the front seats of the car and were both shot by a third person sitting in the back.

Irish police have appealed to anyone with information to contact them.
