Army attend security alerts in Ballygowan and Coleraine

There have been two security alerts in counties Down and Londonderry.

During a search of property in the Prospect Crescent area of Ballygowan on Saturday a suspicious object was uncovered in an adjoining shed.

Army bomb experts attended the scene. The alert is now over and a number of items have been removed for further examination

Meanwhile, police have said a suspicious object left in Kingsbury Gardens in Coleraine was a hoax.

A controlled explosion was carried out and residents have been returning to their homes.
