Arrest after two armed robberies in west Belfast

Police are investigating whether two armed robberies in west Belfast on Tuesday night were linked.

Two teenage girls and two teenage boys had cash and mobile phones stolen from them at knifepoint in the first robbery on the Falls Road.

A phone and cash were also taken from a man at Beechmount Avenue. Two men, one armed with a screwdriver, carried out the second robbery.

A 21-year-old man was arrested later in west Belfast.

The first of the robberies was carried out at 21:55 BST, the second at 23:30 BST.
