Prawns stolen from lorry on Monaghan Road near Middletown

About 14,000 kgs of fresh prawns have been stolen from a refrigerated lorry near Middletown, County Armagh.

It was left on a lay-by on the main Monaghan Road on the outskirts of the village after it broke down around 01:00 GMT on Thursday.

When the driver returned around midday he discovered the prawns had been removed from the vehicle.

Police believe another lorry was used in the theft.

They have appealed for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact them.
