A house has been badly damaged in an arson attack in Bangor, County Down.

The blaze at the unoccupied property, at Ballyree Drive in the Bloomfield estate, was reported shortly after 01:35 BST on Monday.

The house sustained substantial fire and smoke damage.

Police have appealed for information.
