Man charged with attempted murder over Glengormley attack

A 42-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder over an assault on a 16-year-old boy in Glengormley last weekend.

The teenager suffered serious head injuries in the attack on the Antrim Road at about 20:00 BST on Saturday.

The man has also been charged with common assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday.

A 43-year-old man previously arrested over the assault was released pending further enquiries.

He has since been released unconditonally.
