Man and woman face 38 animal cruelty charges

A man and woman are due to appear in court later this week to face a total of 38 animal cruelty charges.

The pair, both aged 41, are to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday 2 August.

They were arrested as part of a police operation carried out with officers from the animal charity, the USPCA, on 27 November 2011 in Belfast.

Several dogs were taken away from a number of houses in the south and east of the city.

So far, seven men and a woman have been charged. All are due before the court next Thursday to face a total of 204 charges.
