Police came under attack from a large crowd throwing bricks and bottles in Craigavon early on Sunday.

It happened after officers were sent to investigate suspicious activity in the Ardowen area at about 01:00 BST.

About two hours later, a car was hijacked at Monbrief East Road and set alight at roundabout 3.

A police spokesman said the youths dispersed at about 04:00 BST but officers remained in the area for a time to monitor the situation.

Police have appealed for information.
