Man is attacked with bats and sticks in Bangor

A 24-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being attacked by a gang wielding bats and sticks in Bangor, County Down.

A number of masked men forced their way into the man's home in the Clandeboye Way area shortly before 22:30 BST on Monday.

After the attack, the gang headed in the direction of Kilcooley estate.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries including a suspected fracture of his arm.

Police say a motive for the attack has yet to be established.
